Process Simulator Ribbon
The Process Simulator ribbon is provided with all the options needed to define simulation data, run simulation models, and review model the results. The options include:
- Convert Diagram Converts an existing flow chart to a Process Simulator model. Also updates models created in a previous version of Process Simulator (ProModel PI) to the latest version.
- Create or Install Packaging Allows you to create or install Process Simulator package files (.PSCPKG). Package files contain your .vsd file and any other supporting files, such as shift files.
- Object Explorer Displays a list of all the objects (shapes and connections) you have defined in your process. For more information, see Simulation Object Explorer.
- Shape Properties Displays the properties dialog for the selected shape. For more information, see Shapes.
- Variables and Attributes Allows you to create the variables (global) and attributes you may use in your process. For more information about Variables, see Variables. For more information about Attributes, see Attributes.
- Resource Groups Allows you to define resource groups using the resources in your layout. For more information, see Resource Groups.
- Advanced Elements Opens a dialog where advanced model elements such as Variables, Attributes, Resource Groups, Macros, Subroutines, and External Arrivals can all be created and edited within the same dialog. For more information, see Advanced Elements.
- Simulate Initiates the simulation of the model.
- Simulation Properties Opens a dialog for defining simulation run length properties. For more information see Simulation Properties.
- Simulate Scenarios Runs your defined scenarios.
- Scenario Manager Opens the scenario manager. For more information, see Scenario Manager.
- Output Viewer Launches Output Viewer and loads the output for the current drawing. For more information, see Output Viewer.
- Six Sigma Analysis Opens the Six Sigma Configuration dialog. For more information, see Six Sigma Analysis with Minitab.
- Minitab Launches the Minitab program (if installed). If you have defined elements in the Six Sigma Configuration dialog and previously simulated your model, clicking the Minitab button will launch Minitab and display your simulated Six Sigma results. For more information on Minitab, see Six Sigma Analysis with Minitab.
- Import/Export Data Exporting Process Simulator model data allows you to view and validate the details of all activities, entities, resources, arrivals, routings, etc. in Microsoft Office Excel. You can then modify many of the details and import those changes back into your Process Simulator model. For more information, see Import-Export Model Data.
- Calendar Editor Opens the Calendar Editor dialog. For more information, see Calendar Editor.
- Options Opens the Process Simulator options dialog, which is described in the next heading.
- Upload Model Allows you to upload models to ProModel Enterprise.
- Tutorials Launches the Process Simulator Tutorials.
