Installing Process Simulator

To install Process Simulator follow these steps:

How to install program files from a CD:

  1. Microsoft Visio must have been run at least once prior to installing Process Simulator. Visio must also be activated, if applicable for your version of Visio, prior to installing Process Simulator.
  2. Close all running applications.
  3. Insert the CD into your CD ROM drive. The Install Splash Screen automatically appears:

If the Install Splash Screen does not appear, follow these steps:

 

For Windows XP users

    1. On the Windows taskbar, click the Start button.
    2. From the Start menu, select Run.
    3. Click the Browse button to locate the CD drive, and then select Install.

 

For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 users

    1. On your keyboard, press the Windows key (it has the Windows logo and is between the Ctrl and Alt keys) and press E (i.e., Windows+E).
    2. Locate the CD drive under Devices with Removable Storage, and double-click the CD drive to launch the installation process.

 

  1. To install Process Simulator, click Install Process Simulator located on the Install Splash Screen.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to install Process Simulator.
  3. If your computer does not already have some prerequisite components installed, you will then be alerted to install them.
  4. Click Install to begin the setup of each prerequisite listed.
Please note: Installing the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 may take several minutes.
If installing Process Simulator to a Windows 8 PC, you will have to install .NET Framework outside of the PCS installation. See Installing .NET Framework
  1. The Process Simulator – InstallShield Wizard dialog appears.

  1. Select the appropriate language, and click OK.
  2. The Welcome to the Process Simulator Installation dialog appears.

  1. Click Next.
  2. The License Agreement dialog appears.

  1. Read the agreement if you choose. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and click Next.
  2. The Serial Number or Hardware Key Number Entry dialog appears.

  1. Select Serial Number or Hardware Key Number, as appropriate, type the number in the box, and click Next.
  2. The Ready to Install the Program dialog appears.

  1. Click Install.
  2. The Installing Process Simulator dialog appears and displays the installation progress.

  1. No action is needed on your part at this point. If you want to cancel the installation, click Cancel.
  2. The installation of Process Simulator may take several minutes. When installation is complete, the Process Simulator Setup Completed dialog appears.

  1. Click Finish.

Downloading and Installing from a URL link

  1. Click on the URL link or copy and paste the link into a web browser.
  2. When prompted, choose to save the Process Simulator Setup file to your computer's desktop.
  3. Double-click on the Setup file on the desktop to initiate the installation.
  4. The installation will proceed according to the CD-based installation instructions provided above.
